In 2004 she became a dance instructor, teaching ballet, tap, and jazz to her young and eager students. Elissa's first involvement with Coup de Theatre Atlanta took place at an audition for "Wait!" by Julie Jenson. Playing the leading lady Wendy Burger, lead her to become an active board member after its running. Eager to do much more, she found herself working as a Stage Manager for the show "Closer" by Patrick Marber.
